Signing of the renewed Code of Responsibility for the internet gambling industry

Publicēts: 08.06.2023

On 5 June ALFOR, together with other members of the Latvian Interactive Gambling Association (LIAB), signed a renewed Code of Responsibility for the industry.

It provides that LIAB members will provide the Lotteries and Gambling Supervision Inspectorate (IAUI) and the Ministry of Finance with anonymized data on potentially problematic gambling trends. The data will be obtained from a unified analytical monitoring system implemented by all LIAB members.

The information obtained within the framework of the analytical monitoring system can help identify the most pressing problems related to gambling and decide in time on the most appropriate solutions to prevent such problems. The anonymized data not only help to improve the efficiency of customer protection mechanisms implemented by LIAB members but can also be important for the supervisory body of the industry - IAUI - and the policy maker - the Ministry of Finance.

LIAB members annually renew the Code of Responsibility of the industry, introducing new responsible gambling and prevention tools.

Since June 2021, ALFOR internet gambling platform FenikssCasino.lv is using an analytical monitoring system that provides each player with an individual overview of the number of deposits, costs, frequency and duration of their play. It identifies signs of problem gambling and sends personalized alerts and notifications to the player in real time. This allows the players to adjust their gambling behaviour and provides them with information on gambling addiction and available support.
