Updates the industry liability code

Publicēts: 09.12.2021

Alfor LLC, together with other members of the Latvian Interactive Gambling Association, has signed the renewed liability code. It envisages the introduction of an analytical monitoring system to protect customers from problematic games.

We are glad that the use of analytical systems for player protection is becoming the industry standard in Latvia. Such a system has been operating on the Alfor LLC’s interactive platform Fenikss Casino since June, 2021.

Based on scientific research and experience to date, the operators have agreed to use common criteria for all operators to monitor their customers' behavior, which may indicate signs of problematic play.

All LIAB members have undertaken to start evaluating certain behavioral criteria no later than June 30th, 2022 - time spent in the game or game duration, amounts of customer’s deposits, frequency of customer’s deposits, unsuccessful deposits, amount of customer’s losses, as well as the manner of customer’s communication with the operator.
Changes in these criteria in relation to the customer's normal game, recorded by the operator, and a shift in relation to the averages on the operator's platform are considered to be a feature of risky gaming. Customers identified with the characteristics of a risky gaming will be redirected to the Register of self-denied persons.

The liability code has been signed by Paf Latvija Marketing Manager Rihards Streķis, Betsafe Latvija Chairman of the Board Armands Ukass, Optibet Group Member of the Board and Enlabs Group CFO Georgijs Ustinovs, 11.lv Chairman of the Board Jānis Trēgers, Alfor Chairman of the Board Jānis Zuzāns and Olybet Latvia Member of the Board Gint Pakārklis.
